Bruce Truitt

Bruce TruittBruce Truitt has over 25 years’ experience in the design and delivery of applied statistics and auditing curricula, consultations, methodologies, and tools in local, state, national, and international settings. His specific areas of expertise include sampling, data analysis, statistical process control, performance measurement, quantitative risk assessment, and empirical and comparative analyses of the efficiency and effectiveness of organization culture and development.

Mr. Truitt teaches "Practical Statistical Sampling for Auditors" for the Government Auditor's Training Institute in Washington DC and is on the faculty of the Medicaid Integrity Institute at the US Department of Justice National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina. He is a former Professor of Quantitative Methods in Saint Edward's University's Graduate School of Business, where he received Outstanding Faculty Award recognition, and a past Guest Lecturer in Management and Auditing at the Kiev (Ukraine) School of Management.

Mr. Truitt has worked over fifteen years in government auditing during which time his work has focused on health and human services, with particular emphasis on fraud, waste, and abuse. He serves on and provides quantitative analysis consultation support to the nationwide Joint State-Federal Fraud and Abuse and Payment Error Rate Measurement Technical Advisory Groups organized under the auspices of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), the National Association of State Medicaid Directors (NASMD), and the National Association for Medicaid Program Integrity (NAMPI). Bruce also developed the Texas State Auditor's Office Statistical ToolBox, a sampling, testing, analysis, and reporting tool used by thousands of public and private entities in all 50 states and 33 foreign countries. Mr. Truitt's work in and tools for applied statistics, data analysis, and evaluation has been recognized by the National State Auditors Association for Excellence in Accountability.

Bruce holds a Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin where he served Teaching Assistant in Applied Statistics and Operations Research. He also holds Master of Arts Degrees in both Foreign Language Education and Russian and East European Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
